Age: 44 and 6 months

Personality: Type: A (the red one) or Type INTJ_T (T is for turbulent ... hmmm, no comment) - It is the rarest personality type amongst woman according to "the internet" - Chatgpt best describes me: conflicting personality traits that are often misunderstood by the masses

Stress Level: Extremely high, according to my therapist I am in constant fight mode.....I still have to find the button where you turn that mode off or to switch modes to "I don`t give a flying @#$% today...."

Height: 1.75 (but on any weight loss app I am 1.76m)

Ex-smoker: Only stopped on the 1st of May 2023. Have been an on/off smoker since my twenties. Relapses were caused by previous bosses without fail, every time.

Weight: 120.85 - this is 21 kg lighter than I was on 3 September 2021 when my husband died.

Marital Status: Widowed

Children: Janke (10) and Anya (6) and a dog Bella that eats absolutely everything and a cat, Katinka that only loves me in winter.

Job: Customer Success Manager at Profitroom and Owner of AfroBlonde (since 2009) - that is going to be a VERY good blogpost....

Fitness Level: Getting there...…this is also a VERY long story but I am getting on a Lufthansa flight for Europe on 12 June 2023 and I am not taking my flabby arms with me.

Hobbies: I have none, I am a full time employee, business owner, mom, housekeeper, butler, concierge, cook, laundromat(ron), organiser of playdates, PA to to my parents, dance mom, and pet carer.

If I had a black stallion, I would have been a keen horsey person with a VW Touareg, a horsebox, sexy ass and would do show jumping and endurance races in my free time.....

Favourite Series: Bridgerton - it is amazing how much time I can find to binge a new Bridgerton series, and how unphased I am during that time about the kids` screentime, food choices or personal hygiene. The pets hunt for food during these times of absence.

Goals: Apart from my European Summer V-cay and annual company conference and looking half decent I would like to weigh 100kg by the end of the year (when I turn 45), try Botox at least once (another story for another day) and 85 kg by the time I am 50.

When I turn 50: I am going to gift myself with a boob job, have my one saggy eye lid fixed and then I am going to hire a photographer and a glam squad, dress myself in expensive (costume) jewellery and a killer dress and actually execute the photoshoot I promised myself at 40.

Long Term and Ongoing Goal: I would like to raise two independent young ladies that has a voice, can stand up for themselves, does not require a man to complete them, are educated, earning their own living as well as own their own house. At the moment we are not there yet.....apart from the strong voices (aka personalities) … that part we have perfected in no time at all.

but this is not everything about me, because ME is not here yet. I am only finding her now (yes, the therapist is helping immensely, but I am doing all the hard (soul searching) work...)

Follow me as I share with you my life, lessons and journey and hopefully celebrate ME when I find her.

My friend wrote a book

My friend lost her husband around eight weeks before I lost mine. Both to Covid19 in 2021. She decided to write a book, which she did, and she published it with huge success. Peace in Grief it is called. She asked me at the time to write a chapter for her book on dealing with my loss and how my faith carried me through it all. At the time I didn`t find time to write it and I now terribly regret not writing it.  For many months I played with the idea of capturing some of the incidents and all of the miracles that happened to me since I so unexpectedly became a widow at 42 but a book seemed a bit copy-catty. Initially I though of writing "The widow`s guide to death" which I thought would be a best seller because nothing prepares you for that moment a meteor strikes your life and your whole existence is in turmoil and your planet is knocked out of its orbit. Also, there are so many other widows that had so much more taken from them than me. I procrastinated on the subject for so...

My Life Manifest

I am turning 45 in November and on a journey to change my life. I have wasted so much time in my lifetime on absolute rubbish and lies, clinging to emotional crutches and physical addictions that I am getting increasingly more possessive of my time, thoughts, and how I am going to spend the better half of my life. Call it a mid-life crisis or growing up or being pre-menopausal but I am unwilling to continue this mediocre existence of mine.  I`ve been watching many many videos as well as reading about energy, manifesting, meditation, and visualization and I am still navigating my way through all of this information while trying to remain faithful to my relationship with God as many of these exercises are geared toward energy and the "universe" and "life`s magic". I believe that God only wants the very best for me and that He wants me to prosper and achieve greatness as long as all of these blessings do not deter me from serving Him. So I will dream big, set my goals ...

Who do you think you are?

Last night I scrolled through YouTube aimlessly during load-shedding and I came across a series of life coaching videos on a platform called Ted X. I watched a few, some interesting, some mediocre but then I stumbled across Carolyn McHugh and her talk made me sit up and listen, twice... Who do you think you are? So it got me thinking...who DO I think I am and who am I really? I`ve been so consumed by what people think of me my whole life that I have spent an equal amount of time putting myself down for what I think people thought of me. The truth is that I am hardly the center of attention in their life, nor do they spend time thinking about me at all, and definitely do not think what I am thinking they are thinking. The other half of the time I regretted my behavior, attitude, or fast words without much thought about the consequences. I`ve felt ashamed of myself for most of my professional life. “A man is literally what he thinks, his character being the complete sum of all his thoug...
